POSTAL HISTORY 1850s to 1890s substantial accumulation presented in a small box (shoebox size), much of interest, we see commercial covers, some with wonderful, old-time adverts, plus ordinary mail franked mostly 2c or 3c rate, odd higher value seen, note long cover with 15c Webster franking (poor) and multi-franked cover with 2c, 5c & 2x 10c (27c rate) posted Chicago to New York, note many different town cancels, few fancy cancels, coloured cancels, roller cancels with Stars & Stripes etc. Mixed condition with tears, stains, trimmed envelopes, but great value at low estimate (450+ covers).
