1948 INDIAN CENTENNIAL ISSUE - STAMP DESIGNERS MISCELLANY An interesting selection of monochrome photographs of an unaccepted stamp design for this issue, plus a photo & signed plate block of the accepted design of the 1948 3c brown Indian Centennial issue (Scott 972). Includes two different photos of unaccepted designs, these approx size 105 x 65mm, a slightly smaller photo of the adopted design, approx size 85 x 55mm, a photo of the State of Oklahoma, approx size 125 x 75mm, these all with the handstamp "8" on the backs (it is thought that only 20 of each of these exist). In addition there are four photo items showing close ups of four out of the five seals of the Indian Tribes depicted on both the issued stamp and unissued designs, approx size of each 100 x 100mm, a never hinged mint plate block of four of the issued stamp signed in the margin by the stamp designer, R L Miller, the engravers C A Brooks (seals and vignette), and A W Christensen (lettering), together with printed notes on the issue.
