BRITISH OCCUPATION OF MARTINIQUE 1762 (16th April) Bill of Exchange for £1788.10s payable to George Bridges Rodney Esq. (Admiral Rodney) "for services of incidents belonging to the Royal Artillery in America...", attested and signed by Thomas Ord, Commanding Officer, Royal Artillery, at the Tower of London and signed by the Paymaster, endorsed on the back in his own hand by Rodney to his London Agent. Admiral Rodney had captured the island of Martinique in February of that year. An attractive historical item with the Royal Artillery crest of three cannons.
