1994. Unique not issued stamp booklet with not issued Swedish stamps from 1994. This stamp booklet presents ten stamps with a face value of 3,60 Krone instead of 3,20 each!
The booklet’s cover shows a single value of 3,60 Kr. and a total of 36,- Kr. Also the imprint of the cover shows differences, for example the front side of the regular issued booklet is single-coloured as the one of the not issued booklet is two-coloured. There are no other copies of this spectacular booklet known, not even a single copy of one of the unissued stamps of 3,60 Krone!
The catalogue numbers for the issued stamps are: Michel No. 1804 and 1805, MH 188; Facit Special No. 1824 and 1825, H 444, and the date of first issue was 17.1.1994.
The Swedish Post commented that the stamp booklet was produced due to a planned but not achieved increase of postage in 1994. Therefore the increase of postage was enforced in 1995 to 3,70 Krone. The edition of 1994 was “sure to be cancelled.”
In this case of a modern rarity there are only two stamps known with 5 examples each. But this stamp booklet is nevertheless exceptional!
In contrast to the usual circumstances under which not issued stamps are produced only in complet sheets they went a production step further and even put them together to a stamp booklet. This fact indicates that the increase of postage was changed at short notice. So far a precedent case in philately, at least in countries with serious issuance policy.
The present not issued 2 x 5 stamps in the unique stamp booklet represent a great rarity in modern philately and are suitable as a key- and showpiece in different collections as well as a single exhibition piece in rarity shows.

Entdeckung unverausgabter Briefmarken aus Schweden

Unverausgabte Briefmarken, auch der modernen Ausgaben, sind oft ein spannendes Kapitel. Besonders dann wenn Marken auftauchen, die bis dahin der philatelistischen Öffentlichkeit unbekannt waren. Und genau dies geschah vor einiger Zeit in Schweden…

Zunächst aber einige allgemeine Ausführungen zur Einleitung in die Thematik.
Druckbesonderheiten, Fehldrucke, unverausgabte oder zurückgezogene Briefmarken,- im Vergleich zu Schweden sind die deutschen Briefmarken-Produktionen ziemlich anfällig für Besonderheiten bei der Herstellung sowie beim Umgang mit nicht zur Ausgabe autorisierten Marken.
Von Schweden fallen einem dazu eigentlich nur drei Ausgaben sofort ein. Erstens, den wohl berühmtesten Fehldruck der Philatelie, die „gelbe Tre Skilling“ der schwedischen Erstausgabe. Ein millionenschweres Unikat, welches seit vielen Jahrzehnten die Phantasie aber auch philatelistische Forschung gleichermaßen beflügelt und antreibt.
Zweitens, der Fehldruck von 1879 mit TRETIO anstatt TJUGO-Inschrift, Auflage 970 Stück.
Drittens, die ursprünglich zur Ausgabe vorgesehenen Werte „Gustaf V im Medallion“ zu 55 und 80 Öre aus dem Sommer 1918. Diese wurden, obwohl die Auflage fertiggestellt war, kurzfristig doch nicht ausgegeben und stattdessen jeweils mit neuer Wertangabe zu 27 Öre als Aufdruck im Spätherbst 1918 ausgegeben. Aber jeweils die ersten 1000 Marken der ursprünglichen und nicht überdruckten Werte wurden genau an dem Tag, an dem die Entscheidung zum Überdruck anstatt Verausgabung fiel, an das Postamt in Värnamo ausgeliefert und dort teilweise verwendet.
Die seitdem verausgabten schwedischen Briefmarken sind eigentlich unspektakulär. Bei den Ausgaben bis 1924 lassen sich zwar insbesondere für Spezialisten noch so manche höherwertige Typenunterschiede nach Gravuren und Papier/WZ-Unterschieden nachweisen, aber die Ausgaben der letzten 90 Jahre sind eigentlich frei von jeder Überraschung. Wer im schwedischen Spezialkatalog Facit blättert, findet für die letzten Jahrzehnte praktisch keine Abarten oder sonstig Aufregendes. Dafür gehören die schwedischen Briefmarken seit vielen Jahren für Sammler aus aller Welt zu den schönsten Markenausgaben. Zusammengefasst gilt die schwedische

Since that time both, the Mail Order House and Auction House Gärtner, have been united on 2.700 m2 in the easy accessible building owned by Christoph Gärtner.
