For the purpose of
collecting British Post Marks it is necessary to be furnished with
a list of the official obliterating numbers. This is the most
complete list that we offer. We also sell three other popular G.B.
post mark books, two by J.G. Hendy and one by J.H. Daniels, which
contain extensive and profusely illustrated records of postmark
varieties (see below to view these listings), although they only
list obliterating numbers to 1896. Whitworth has revised and
updated the list of obliterating numbers found in the Daniels book,
appended Telegraph Code Letters to places that possessed them, and
gives the county of each Post Office so that it can be located with

chronologically and alphabetically in this book for
1844-1904:
(1) London suburban districts; (2) England and Wales;(3)
Scotland; (4) Ireland; (5) British Post Offices abroad.
