ZULU WAR 1879 soldiers letter rate cover to Edinburgh endorsed 'From No. 1260 S S M Wm Pring. H troop K.D Guards' (King's Dragoon Guards) correctly countersigned at the lower left corner by Capt. A. Gibbings. The cover has a Transvaal 1d, uncancelled as it entered the post at Newcastle, Natal where a No.20 P.O 20/10/1879 date stamp was applied. An Edinburgh & Carstairs Sorting Tender NO.3.79 cancel is on the back. A rare cover from this War.
