Ireland Sligo 1840 and 1849 covers with italic "Dromore West/Penny Post", each from Easky sub-office (the sole Receiving House for Dromore West local post), first 31 July 1840 letter to Cloyne prepaid single Paid 1 Uniform Penny Rate, with partial blue Dromore West/Penny Post over corner and reverse with matching DROMORE WEST linear Townstamp type 1A (partial strike as some of flap torn away on opening), Dublin PAID AU 2 1840 code M transit, CLOYNE AU 3 1840 arrival, then redirected to Glanworth Fermoy with MIDLETON AU 3 1840 and RATHCORMAC AU 3 1840 cds, second cover from Rathlie 20^th Decr 1849 to London prepaid quadruple UPP rate “4”, the Dromore West/Penny Post being struck from both black inkpad and showing traces of blue mixed in, partial DROMORE WEST DE 20 1849 sans-serif cds in blue, Dublin PAID DE 21 1849 transit and London PAID 22 DE 1849 arrival, 1849 being the latest noted use of the Penny Post marking.
