1841 TO 1970 MINT COLLECTION. A impressive collection in a SG "Windsor Sovereign" album with slip- case. We see a great effort made to obtain clean and attractive stamps, the early QV somewhat sparse including some without gum, begins with the 1841 2d blue imperf SG 14 (faults), good line engraved includes 1854-57 2d blue wmk large Crown perf 14 SG 34 (Cat £2850, no gum), Surface Prints start from 1862-64 3d pale carmine- rose SG 77 onwards with many valuable stamps and values to 5s (SG 181) plus so much more (QV, stc £23589); KEVII range of all printings includes values to 1s (3) and 2s6d includes some never hinged stamps, 1d no wmk variety, identified shades (KEVII, stc £2006); KGV strong collection including some never hinged, also many sideways and inverted watermark varieties, a couple of Seahorses (KGV, stc £2508); KGVI appears basically complete with many additional watermark varieties, includes some never hinged & QEII highly complete chiefly never hinged with some missing Castle high values (we do see the 1959 2nd De La Rue set never hinged mint) strong Wildings incl many additional watermark varieties such as both SG 589 & 589Wi, and all the Commem phosphor sets never hinged PLUS MUCH ELSE. An impressive collection with the QV to KGV reigns stated to catalogue £28,103 (looks accurate) plus the KGVI, QEII, Regionals, Postage Dues and Official overprints not catalogued.
