NORTH EAST ENGLAND selection of stamps & covers to or from the North of England, mainly connected to North Shields incl. numerous Victorian stamps with 573 numerals, or N.S c.d.s's, 1795 cover from Adam Bewick at North Shields to Newcastle charge 2d with fine undated North Shields Horseshoe, 1845 cover from Walker to Brampton backstamped the rarely seen St. Anne's circular receiving house mark in red (usual faint strike), 1934 re-engraved 5s Seahorse + 4d, 6d & 1s tied to piece by St. Hild's College/Durham in blue etc. (32 stamps + 11 covers)
