1855 TO 1900 IMPRESSIVE COLLECTION WITH HIGH VALUES. A collection of above average quality used surface- printed stamps painstakingly collected with the different plate numbers and with many of the higher values. Begins with the 1855 4d carmine wmk small garter SG 62, 6d lilac & 1s deep green all attractive examples, the 2½d to 1s stamps are all arranged together by value and then by issue and plate numbers (mostly all complete runs including the scarcer plates), many attractive 'better' stamps such as 1862-64 9d bistre & straw SG 86/87, 1867-80 9d pale straw SG 111, 10d red-brown & pale red-brown SG 112/113, 1873-80 1s orange- brown wmk Spray SG 151 (2, one with sheet margin) etc, the high values include the 1867-83 10s greenish grey SG 128 & £5 orange SG 137 (both these high values without obvious faults), 1883-84 5s rose on blued paper SG 176 (light parcel cancel, signed Engel) also the white paper set SG 178-183a (actually 3 set with various shades), 1884 £1 brown- lilac wmk Crowns SG 185, 1891 £1 green SG 212 PLUS SUCH ELSE.
