1940 (13 Sept) GB 1½d envelope with additional 1940 1d Stamp Centenary stamp sent from Winchester to M. W. Parr (the Governor of the Upper Nile and Equatoria Provinces of Sudan) where a Sudan 10m stamp was added and tied by a Khartoum cds, presumably to pay the onward journey to Juba which was almost 2000km to the south, not arriving at Juba (the main town of Equatoria) until 2nd October. An attractive array of transit pmks on reverse, sent by Martin Parrs brother Jack, who was a housemaster at Winchester, his letter accompanies "...and no invasion from Hitler.
