\Y 1835\Y (3 Jun) EL written at Port Louis to Bordeaux bearing a fair strike of a previously unknown "POST OFFICE / JUIN 10 183? / MAURITIUS" large circle (37.5mm), the cover endorsed "pr Nouvelle Louise" with framed "PAYS D'OUTREMER" and manuscript "10" (decimes) French delivery charge; on reverse the Bordeaux 14 Sept 1835 arrival datestamp. Until more information comes to light this datestamp will remain a mystery, the French "Juin" may have rendered it against British PO regulations or it may be suggestive of a temporary handstamp.
