Die Sicherungs-Entwertungen wurden im Jahr 1920 eingesetzt, um die Marken auf Paketkarten für Sammlerzwecken wertlos zu machen. Diese Praxis wurde schon in der zweiten Hälfte der 20. Jahren fast abgestellt und am 19.5.1930 komplett aufgehoben. Solche Entwertungen entstammen reinen Bedarf und sind philatelistisch vollwertig.
