1944, Adriatic coastal area newly returned to Croatia upon the collapse of Italy, combined franking Sibenik overprints/Croatia: Registered cover from "SIBENIK 28.VI.44" to the tax collectors office in Split with arrival mark 5.VII.44 on reverse (envelope insignificantly shortened at top), bearing Sibenik overprints 3.50k. on 25c. green horizontal strip of three in combination with Croatia 1k. blue horizontal pair and postal tax stamp 2k. carmine, signed and certificate Zrinjscak. 12.700 Italian 25c. stamps were overprinted 3.50k. to make first class postage stamps during a temporary shortage at Sibenik. This letter shows the correct 12.50k. rate (3.50k. domestic rate and 9k. universal registration) but instead of required 10k. postal tax only 2k. were paid. Double the 8k. tax due would have been required of the recipient in this period, although there is no indication that is was charged - possibly a grace period was allowed for the returned area. Stated to be the largest known multiple of the Sibenik local overprint on cover!

Since that time both, the Mail Order House and Auction House Gärtner, have been united on 2.700 m2 in the easy accessible building owned by Christoph Gärtner.
Generous viewing and storage rooms, a private auction hall, enough parking space and an underground car park are available.
