庐山又名匡山、匡庐，相传周朝匡氏七兄弟上山修行，以草庐为舍而得名。位于江西省九江市南，地处江湖之间，北有浩浩荡荡的长江，东南有烟波万顷的鄱阳湖，是一座拔地而起的块垒式的孤山。庐山风景奇胜，素有“匡庐奇秀甲天下山”的美称。庐山山区面积不大，南北长约25公里，东西宽约10公里，略呈椭圆形。
庐山多险绝胜景，匡庐瀑布更是名传天下。其中仙人洞石松横空，五老峰山姿奇特，龙首崖苍龙昂首，含鄱口势含鄱湖，大天池霞落云飞，白鹿洞四山回合，玉渊潭惊波奔流，秀峰碑刻如林，温泉设备齐全，四季风景如画。
