Catalogue:
(Ank-Nr. 36 I F, Scott 29 c, SG AH 51 a) ÷ 1867, 3 Kreuzer red, the famous COLOR ERROR red instead of green, ideal tied by single circle «BRUKENAU 24/9» thereby the face value clearly visible. Erroneously one cliché of the '3 Kr' stamp was inserted in the printing plate of the '5 Kr' stamp (type Ia). This error was soon recognized, however, some pieces were used unnoticed. Overall, only three loose stamps, one on small piece and two covers are known of this WORLD RARITY which were all used in the Hungarian postal area. According to the certificate of Prof. Dr. Ferchenbauer is this the finest copy of this world rarity and has an excellent impression. The stamp is mentioned and shown several times in the literature as in Österreich-Ungarn, 1867 issue, Monograph of Frankings, written by Dr. Jerger and in the specialized catalogue of Prof. Dr. Ferchenbauer. Provenance: Collection King Carol of Rumania. Signed Rudolf Friedl with photo certificate, signed Herbert Bloch (F-Expert Committee) and new photo certificate Prof. Dr. Ulrich Ferchenbauer. (Ank-Nr. 36 I F, Scott 29 c, SG AH 51 a)
