Les poèmes de Jacques Prévert recueillis en 1946 dans Paroles étaient comme repris à la rue, où ils étaient nés et depuis des années s’échangeaient, se récitaient, entre amis et initiés. La couverture originale de ce premier recueil en disait aussi long sur leur origine que sur leur destination : un graffiti urbain photographié par Brassaï et maculé de lettres capitales écarlates peintes à la hâte. Le signal était puissant, choisi : marginal dans la vie et dans les arts, Prévert entendait bien l’être aussi par ses livres.
