Creating and securing jobs from which people can make a living and reducing unemployment are indeed the most important goals of the ÖGB at the dawn of the new millennium. Innovative economic programs and job creation schemes must place people - not profit - in the spotlight. Austria´s unions - the dialog between employees, employers, and the government - must also be implemented on a European level to encourage social development throughout Europe. This international dialog is at the heart of international union-related efforts.
